University of Brighton Centre for Learning and Teaching
University of Brighton Centre for Learning and Teaching, We offer informal consultancy to individuals and course teams, professional development through courses, seminars and online resources, and run a variety of events and conferences such as the Annual Learning and Teaching conference. We also undertake educational research projects, some externally funded, others internally commissioned by the University, and contribute to the development of institutional and national policy.
The University of Brighton supports staff professional development in a variety of ways, from formal taught courses, to specialist workshops supporting a range of academic roles, to drop-in sessions, and online resources. Our teaching qualifications framework, consisting of the Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, and Professional Recognition and Development Scheme is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), offering routes to all four categories of HEA fellowship.
We recognise excellence in teaching and supporting teaching through scholarships and awards and support staff applying for the National Teaching Fellow (NTF) and Collaborative Awards for Teaching Excellence (CATE) schemes.
All courses and workshops offered by the Centre for Learning and Teaching are open to University of Brighton staff and colleagues in partner colleges teaching on University validated courses.
