The University of Bradford is a technology university with over 50 years of cutting-edge research experience.  Our research is ranked in the top 50 in the UK (HEFCE, 2014) for research quality with three quarters being classed as either world-leading or internationally excellent.

“We pride ourselves on the high quality of our research and knowledge transfer activity. Bradford is continuing to develop as a world-leading, research-intensive university that brings real solutions to issues affecting society and communities worldwide.” Professor Brian Cantor, Vice-Chancellor.

Research and Knowledge Transfer Centres

Research and knowledge transfer activity takes place across all University disciplines.

In the strongest areas we have established seven Research and Knowledge Transfer (RKT) Centres. All have impressive track records of research council funding, research studentships, and working with industry and business.

Automotive Research Centre

The Automotive Research Centre, headed by Felician Campean has brought together a team of experts in the School of Engineering, Design, & Technology with a broad range of knowledge and experience in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and a track record of industrial collaboration covering over 20 years.

We have a strong track record of successful industry partnerships with major companies including Jaguar Land Rover, Cummins, and Ford. We help Manufacturing Industry and other organisations improve designs, systems, products, and processes to enhance their competitiveness and sustainability, focusing particularly on efficiency improvements and CO2 reduction in the road transport sector.
