University of Bradford Medicine

School of Medical Sciences

We are a large and friendly school committed to both high-quality teaching and research.

Bradford was the first university in the UK – and one of the first in the world – to introduce an undergraduate degree course in Biomedical Science. The School of Medical Sciences has continued to pioneer high-quality new developments in clinical and biomedical sciences education, and it is recognised both nationally and internationally for the excellence of its course and graduates.

The school comprises the Centre for Skin Sciences, the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics, Bradford Pathology and Ethical Tissue alongside  undergraduate programmes in Biomedical Science; Clinical Sciences and Healthcare Science (Life Sciences).

All our students are taught by experts in these fields and in the final year of study will undertake a 20 week research project, which includes a whole month spent in a laboratory. Working closely with an academic supervisor, they will carry out an individual piece of research and receive training in how to perform key biomedical techniques, analyse data and present their findings in a scientific report.

NSS 2016

In the National Student Survey students were 90% satisfied with our Biomedical Science course.
