University of Bolton Polymaths

Polymaths is a nationally recognised course of A-level standard, which is taught in the evenings on a part-time basis. It is particularly relevant if you have been away from education for a while and are considering degree-level study in mathematics or related subjects, as it will help to prepare you for progression to this level.

This access course is an intensive phase of study that requires a high level of commitment. The majority of the assessment is by coursework, which ensures you will receive regular and frequent feedback on your work.

On successful completion of the course you will be eligible for consideration for entry to the BSc (Hons) Mathematics degree at the University of Bolton.

About the course

Polymaths is taught on two evenings each week. The group sizes are not large, averaging about 30 students, and teaching is relatively informal. Staff are very approachable and offer excellent support and attention.

The Polymaths course has been taught at Bolton for more than 30 years and many of the students who have passed the course have gone on to gain good honours degrees at Bolton and elsewhere
