Students from South Korea at Birmingham

The University of Birmingham warmly welcomes students from South Korea! We’ve been welcoming international students to the University for over 100 years and currently have 141 South Korean students studying a range of programmes.

Many nationality groups form student societies during their time with us, and the Guild of Students currently has a University of Birmingham Korean Society as well as a University of Birmingham Oriental Society amongst many more, which can be a great way to meet other students from your home country.

At the UoB Korean Society, we aim to bring together those with a passion for Korea (Korean culture, language, food and music etc) with regular meetings, socials and events.

Accommodation at Birmingham

There’s lots to consider when starting university, but we make sure your new room feels instantly like home.

We have plenty of choice when it comes to deciding where to live, including our new hall of residence, Chamberlain, which welcomed its first students in September. Our three accommodation villages offer a safe and friendly home from home and are just a short walk from the main campus.

You can learn more on our accommodation pages where there is all the information you need about our halls of residence and options for accommodation, including the Meal Plan.

Wherever you live, our accommodation allows you to enjoy your independence in a supportive and friendly environment, as well as putting you at the heart of student life.
