The gym in the Munrow Sports Centre is designed to provide you with a range of inclusive equipment for a wholesome workout.

Whether you’re young, old, a trained athlete or new to exercise, your heart is the most essential organ in your body. Our vast range of cardiovascular equipment will provide you with a workout to make your heart stronger, improve your stamina and overall fitness.

Cardiovascular equipment:

Resistance equipment:
  • Full range of equipment for upper and lower body, including cable machines

Free weights

There is a dedicated free weights area within the gym which is fully equipped with Olympic lifting platforms, Olympic plates and bars and numerous free weight stations.

  • Dumbbells 1-55kg
  • Squat racks
  • Men’s and Women’s weightlifting bars
  • Olympic weightlifting discs
  • Adjustable benches

Induction

You must complete an induction before you use the gym for the first time, however, depending on your experience and intended use of the gym, there are different inductions available. Please choose the one which best suits your needs.

Basic Fitness InductionIn Depth Fitness Induction
Duration: 5.51 minutes

An online video covering health and safety and general house rules.

This induction is sufficient if you have prior gym experience.

Duration: 50 minutes

A small group practical session taken in the gym where you are shown and instructed in how to use the equipment. Sports kit needed.

Book this induction if you feel you have very little, or no gym experience. Please book at reception.

Free Weights InductionFree Weights Drop-in Session
Duration: 60 minutes

A small group practical session held in the gym covering exercises such as squats, deadlifts, barbell row and overhead press, as well as health and safety and general free weights room rules. Sports kit needed.
