The Institute of Biomedical and Environmental Science and Technology (iBEST ) has its own building at Butterfield business park.
The University’s overarching arrangements for managing health and safety may be found in the University Health and Safety Policy, which is available for staff at the below link (non-staff can request copies of the policy by emailing the RGS);
- New and Expectant mothers
- New staff
- Contractors and visitors
Out of hours access
Formal arrangements are in place with University staff/students to enable out of hours working – a copy of the form is provided here: Out of hours access form – DOC 36.0 KB
Safe working arrangements must be established before out of hours access is permitted to contractors or visitors to iBEST. Contact your staff sponsor to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place.
The following booklet, from The Safer Luton Partnership, was written to give basic help and guidance on how to deal with violence and aggression in the workplace and how you could prevent an incident from occurring. It also includes general personal safety advice.
The arrangements at 250 Butterfield were subject to a mini-audit on 6 June 2011.The feedback sheet is available here:
