University Of The Arts London Personal Statement
Once you have chosen your course and are confident that you can satisfy the entry requirements, you can start preparing your application.
Helping you to apply
The application process will depend on the course you’ve chosen, and full details can be found in the ‘Apply’ section of each course page. You can also find general application information and advice in the Apply section of our website.
International students can apply for a UAL course through one of the following routes:
UAL’s official representatives
We have official UAL representatives based in many countries outside of the EU. Our representatives can help you through the whole application process for all of our courses, from enquiry to enrolment, free of charge.
They can advise you, often in your native language, on the differences between our Colleges and courses, how to prepare your portfolio and how to apply, and can arrange a face-to-face interview in your country.
There is no deadline for applications made via our official representatives, but as many courses fill up quickly, we advise you to apply as early as possible.
If you are applying for an undergraduate course, you may also apply through the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). This is particularly useful if you are applying to more than one university in the UK.
Take a look at our Applying Through UCAS page for more details, including application deadlines.
Directly to UAL
We receive and process applications directly from students who don’t have an official representative in their country, or who would prefer to apply independently.
Direct application forms for pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate courses can be found in the ‘Apply’ section of your chosen course’s web page. Search for a course across all 6 of our Colleges here.
Please note – undergraduate direct application forms need to be completed in writing and then mailed to our UAL International Admissions team. Pre-degree and postgraduate direct applications are made through our online application system.
Each of our Colleges also has an International Office providing advice on applying to their courses. They also coordinate interviews and the portfolio review process.
