As the Head of Facilities Management you will be responsible for assisting in the development and management of the University estate strategy, and for the effective management of the University Facilities Management function, comprising both in-house and out-sourced hard and soft FM service components.. You will lead the efficient delivery of operational services to ensure that all services are delivered to optimise performance, provide value for money, minimising disruption and securing the highest level of service for the customers.

You will coordinate the development, review and ongoing enhancement of the University FM function and, as part of the senior estates team you will contribute directly to the strategic management of the estates functions.

The Estates Department provides a number of core services across the University’s 16 academic sites, including, soft and hard Facilities Management, management of student residences, catering and commercial services, sustainability and energy management, estate management, project management, and property developments.

The University is embarking on an exciting rationalization of its estate over the next 6 years that will provide exciting new premises and reduce the spread of sites considerably. This role will be active in the forming of standards and specifications for the new buildings, maintaining high standards of existing operations in a demanding portfolio as well as the transformation that will take place in the services according to the evolving estates demands.
