Degrees (including Higher degree apprenticeships)
You need passes in at least two A levels, one A level double award, a BTEC National Certificate, OCR National Diploma or equivalent. Also at least three GCSE passes grade C or above including English and maths. Key Skills Level 2 in Communication and Application of Number are accepted as alternatives. Some professions ask for additional entry qualifications. See individual courses for details.
HND applicants may be considered for entry to the second or final year of a degree. It depends on credit achieved and the HND content in relation to the degree. If you have a foundation degree you may go on to the final year of a relevant honours degree. You may need a bridging course. Contact the admissions tutor.
Entry for foundation degrees is based on your ability to succeed. This can be shown by having a range of Level 3 qualifications (NVQ 3, BTEC, A level) or training through work. For some foundation degrees you must be in employment relevant to your course.
Higher national diplomas (HNDs)
You need passes in one A level, one A level double award, a BTEC National Award, OCR National Certificate or equivalent. Also at least three GCSE passes grade C or above including English and maths. Key Skills Level 2 in Communication and Application of Number are accepted as an alternative. Some professions ask for additional entry qualifications.
Entry for foundation years is based on your ability to succeed. This can be demonstrated through having a range of Level 3 qualifications (NVQ 3, BTEC Award, A level) or appropriate training through work.

We offer courses before you start and when you arrive.
Unless otherwise specified points from General Studies A level are included in the tariff score.
Key skills at level 3
Each course accepts a minimum of 20 tariff points from Key Skills at Level 3 towards the tariff score.
We accept functional skills at level 2 in both maths and English as equivalent to GCSE Maths and English grade C for most courses. However, some courses may specifically ask for GCSE maths and/or English at grade C or above. Where this is the case it is clearly stated in course entry criteria.
Some courses leading to a registerable qualification have an age requirement. The statutory bodies specify a minimum age as an entry requirement or to register with them at the end of the course.
We welcome applications from mature students without conventional entry requirements. We’ll take into account any alternative qualifications or other experience you may have.
Recognition of prior learning
You can gain considerable knowledge from work, volunteering and life. Under recognition of prior learning (RPL) you may be awarded credit for this which can be credited towards the course you want to study.

We accept many different international qualifications. You should provide detailed information about your qualifications when you apply. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for advice.
