Just a 15 minute walk from the University campus, our halls of residence, Horton Halls, provides self-catered single en-suite study/bedrooms. Close to local transport and with everything you’d expect from modern student housing, Horton Halls is the perfect place to create your home away from home.
Each flat accommodates four to eight students, sharing a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. There are on-site laundry facilities, internet access in every room, and a secure reception manned 24 hours a day. A mixture of mixed and single sex flats are clustered around an attractive central courtyard. Each block includes a common room with comfortable seating and a large plasma-screen television, where students can relax and meet friends.
A bus service running every 20 minutes serves the halls and drops off right outside the University’s main entrance.
Horton Halls is wheelchair accessible and we provide for students with other disabilities or special needs.
Rates and room types
All of our rooms are ensuite with 332 standard rooms and 154 premium rooms.
The weekly rate at Horton Halls for the 2017/18 academic year is £160 for a standard room and £170 for a premium room.
When planning how much money to allow for accommodation, we recommend budgeting for a 42-week academic year, although this may be longer for some courses.
Undergraduate and international applicants (undergraduate and postgraduate) are prioritised for a place at Horton Halls in their first year. Most, if not all, of these students will secure a room at Horton Halls.
Unless space is available, postgraduate students are not normally allocated places at Horton Halls. Instead, most find private accommodation in the local area. The University of London Housing Services is a useful resource to help you find somewhere to live.
Alternative halls of residence are available at the intercollegiate halls of residence, run by the University of London.

Once you receive an offer to study at St George’s as your first choice (either conditional or unconditional), an information pack (usually sent in the June before you start your course) will explain how to apply through our online system.

Horton Halls of Residence are available for bookings during the out of term summer period – early July to early September.
Horton Halls are a perfect place to stay for any organisation or tourist seeking more competitive rates than those available in central London.
The Halls are spread across two buildings. The halls can house 486 guests in total, in self-catered single bedrooms. Each room has en-suite facilities.
Building 1 has five blocks of apartments, each clustered around a central courtyard. Each apartment shares a well-equipped kitchen and dining area.
Building 2 incorporates higher specification rooms with more space, wider beds, larger en-suite bathrooms, softer carpets, and redesigned desk spaces. It also includes a 300 square metre common room which can be used as a venue for meetings, presentations, or other activities.
All blocks feature additional, smaller common rooms with comfortable chairs and a large plasma-screen television. There are on-site laundry facilities, internet access in all units, and a 24-hour security-manned reception, as well as a convenience shop just adjacent to the development.
Local supermarkets, shops and amenities in Tooting are a short walk away from Horton Halls.
Horton Halls are a 10 minute walk from Earlsfield and Haydons Road train stations with their links to Waterloo, Blackfriars, and Wimbledon rail and tube terminals, and Clapham Junction – a main terminus serving all of London, Gatwick, Heathrow and the South Coast.
It is a 15 minute walk to Tooting Broadway London Underground Station (Northern line). The buildings are within close proximity to Earls Court Exhibition Centre and the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon.
