Careers Advice

Need help deciding what to do after graduation? Confused about your options? Want to now what you could be doing know to improve your career chances later?

The Careers Service is here to support all SGUL current students and recent graduates to develop the skills and knowledge they need to pursue their career or further study.

This involves 1:1 advice and coaching, careers workshops and events as well as access to careers information, resources and vacancy listings.

What can the careers adviser help with?                                                   

  • Starting to think about options and signposting to useful resources
  • Weighing up decisions on career choices, medical specialties or further study
  • Advice and guidance on where to look for jobs
  • CV, application form and further study personal statement checks
  • Practice interviews

A careers adviser cannot tell you want to do, or provide all the answers; their role is to help you to clarify your thinking and sharpen your ability to manage your own career.

Making an appointment with the careers adviser

Appointments are available every Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am-4pm and the careers adviser is located in the Student Centre, ground floor of the main St George’s building (Hunter Wing).
