MUSA is inviting applications for a new speaker series, catering directly to early career researchers. The MUSA Ten Talks, a bit like the well-known TED talks, aim to bring young scholars’ research to the heart ofLondon’s university hub in a dynamic and innovative format.

The events will be hosted at SOAS, University of London in the Russell Square campus at strategic times of the day to make sure that the SOAS research community has the chance to come along and engage with your research. The idea is to showcase your work and learn about other people’s projects in a more informal and relaxed atmosphere than the usual conference setting.

Each of these informal ‘poster’ talks will have two 10-minute presentations followed by a 15-minute Q& A. There will be food, drink and the usual engaged audience.

We plan to hold these regularly between March and June, so we invite you to submit a short abstract and your availability at soon as possible. We will offer some dates for you to choose from and try to pair you up with somebody else speaking on a related theme.

Please include the following:

  • Title of your talk
  • Abstract of your talk (150-200 words)
  • Your availability to speak at a MUSA Ten Talk event – the months that you are likely to be available starting from March till June 2015
  • Your name, institutional affiliation, year of study (if relevant) or number of years since the completion of your PhD (if relevant)
  • Your email address and phone number
