Royal College of Nursing Legal Officer, As a Legal Officer for the Royal College of Nursing based in the RCN HQ in Cavendish Square, London W1, you will work as part of a team providing legal advice, support and representation to RCN members in professional regulatory proceedings in particular, and on health law issues generally. You will also manage a team of Assistant Legal officers and administrative staff. You will have the opportunity to contribute to other RCN projects.
You will represent and advise members on complex issues in relation to Nursing and Midwifery Council, Disclosure and Barring Service, and enhanced DBS checks. With a Law Degree or equivalent and admission as a Solicitor, Barrister-at-Law or Legal Executive, you will have the ability to practise in all aspects of regulatory law work as well as knowledge of personal injury or clinical negligence or criminal litigation. You will be required to conduct advocacy at the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You will line manage a team of lawyers and you will participate in strategic work for the Legal Directorate when requested by the Senior Legal Officer.
