Oxford Brookes University Student Union
Brookes Union exists to support, represent and inspire the students of Oxford Brookes. We are a member led organisation, which means we exist for the students of Oxford Brookes University and all students are automatically members.
Brookes Union offers a range of services for students. We have loads of active student Societies, a Safety Bus service, an Advice Service and a system of Student Reps. We also run a range of events from film nights to meet the guidedogs.
As well as the staff team, we have a number of full time and part time officers, who work to improve the student experience at Oxford Brookes.
Policy and Governance
Brookes Union is governed by its General Meetings which formulate policy and oversee the work of the Trustee Board. Every student can attend General Meetings.
The Trustee Board comprises three elected officers, three elected student Trustees and three external Trustees. The three sabbatical officers are Oxford Brookes students who are based in the Union to represent students on a full time basis for a year. The trustees (similar in responsibilities to company directors) of Brookes Union have overall responsibility for the organisation. The management of the organisation is delegated to staff.
