Business stock move

At the start of the summer vacation the business books and journals in the Wheatley Library were moved to the Headington Library (JHBB). This was done to support the move of the Oxford Brookes Business School to the Headington campus. The Latest News section on the right shows the remaining tasks that are being carried out.

Refurbishment of the Wheatley Library

Wheatley Library will shortly be given a new look so that it continues to meet the needs of the MEMS and CCT students who will be remaining at Wheatley.

  • When does this refurbishment begin?

Monday 10th July

  • How long is the refurbishment expected to last?

9 weeks

  • What does this mean for me?

The current Library space will remain open until 5:00pm on Friday 07 July. After this date, Library staff and operations will be relocated to the ‘Pop-up Library’ in the Postgraduate Lounge in B Block at Wheatley Campus where there will be study spaces available and managed access arrangements to the TDE stock in place.

  • Can I still borrow from Wheatley Library after the 10th?

We will be operating an email and collect service for TDE items located in Wheatley Library. To request items, search our catalogue as normal and then email whlibenquiries@brookes.ac.uk with your chosen items. We will then collect the items for you and they will be available to collect from the ‘Pop-up Library’. Requests can be made up to 08:00am each morning; requests submitted after 08:00am will be available the following day.

Books can therefore still be borrowed and returned at the ‘Pop-up Library’.

TDE items for collection at Headington and Harcourt Hill will need to be reserved through our normal reservations service.

  • I have reservations to collect at Wheatley. Where will they be?

We will continue to offer our reservation service throughout the refurbishment period. From the 10th, users will need to collect their reservations from the ‘Pop-up Library’.

  • Will I still be able to speak to my Librarian?

Library staff will continue to be available for enquiries and support. You can contact us by phone on 01865 485869, email wheatleylibrarians@brookes.ac.uk or use the Library’s chat service on the homepage.

  • Will this impact on my access to online databases?

The Wheatley library refurbishment does not affect your access to online resources.

Please note that no financial transactions will be possible during the Library refurbishment; users will be referred to Headington Library (01865 483144).
