Estates Services

The University is entering into an exciting phase of redevelopment. We, in the Estates Division, are playing a key role in making the vision of the ‘Campus of the Future’ a reality.

We continue to undertake our duties in a proficient and professional way. Our teams keep the power on, the systems safe and maintain the functioning of over 180 buildings and over 190 acres of grounds to meet the expectations of all who work within and visit our estate. The staff who carry out these vital tasks are highly valued members who are encouraged and supported in furthering their natural abilities and professional skills, and in enhnacing their personal development.

We are passionate about our daily responsibility to our customers – present and future – in ensuring that the University estate is a safe, functioning, pleasant environment in which to live, work, study and visit.

Estates & facilities management

Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) is an intrinsic part of the University, and is key to supporting the overall student experience and, therefore, student learning and satisfaction. EFM staff plays an important role in the lives of students and staff every day and the way we deliver services and present the built environment has a demonstrable impact on the way in which Brookes is perceived and remembered.

EFM provides a broad range of diverse facilities and services that directly and indirectly enhance the student experience. Our aim is to provide an estate and student services that are excellent, value for money, safe and sustainable.

Through the delivery of an Estate Strategy, and the provision of quality and cost effective services, EFM will support the delivery of the University’s world-class research, including knowledge transfer, consultancy and commercial activities. The Space Team within EFM are developing standards and guidelines as part of the estate strategy.
