The small screen, the big screen and online media provide a range of avenues for original short films that tell stories, engage audiences and explore a range of contemporary forms, formats and genres.

BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production is a Creative Skillset accredited course which focuses on developing originality of ideas and practice across all aspects of filmmaking and production roles. From week one you will be out on location making films, working in production teams with other students to develop original film concepts. The University’s industry standard media labs provide facilities to develop technical and craft skills in editing and post production and its professional film studio provides opportunities to further your practice and specialist skills in direction, sound design and scriptwriting.

In your final year you will write, produce and direct an original short film, alongside undertaking specialist roles on a number of productions, and develop a strategy for distributing your film to festivals, events and online including BFI Southbank, Munich Film Festival, SOHO International Film Festival, Los Angeles International Student Film Festival and a special degree show screening at Picturehouse cinema, Cinema City, in Norwich.
