Kevin Smith   Joined Edinburgh Napier University in November 2007 as a Senior Lecturer Clinical Biochemistry having previously spent 15 years at Strathclyde rising to senior lecturer in what was then Department of Bioscience and is now the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. I am an active researcher in areas of clinical biochemistry and glycobiology interested in the investigation of glycoproteins as biomarkers for disease. Current research involves investigating blood glycoproteins as biomarkers for breast cancer and also determining whether plasma protein binding to drugs can be viewed as a mechanism for drug resistance.
