Keele Philharmonic Orchestra and Keele Voices choir are student-run societies welcoming players from both the student and staffing bodies of Keele University, as well as from the local community and across Staffordshire. We perform around 4 concerts a year either on campus or in churches in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area, and this year are hoping to undertake more varied repertoire. We are focussed on community participation in music, and are always looking for opportunities to perform with passionate new members, in new venues, to as many people as possible. We are a professionally conducted orchestra, and as of September 2015 have been delighted to welcome Edward Farmer, professional conductor and musical director of KPO and KV – who has previously conducted the Budapest Festival Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, and is currently Music Director of London Arts Orchestra.

Keele Voices rehearse on Thursdays 4.30pm – 6pm in Lindsay Studio 2 on Keele’s campus

Keele Philharmonic rehearse on Thursdays 6.30pm – 9.15pm in Lindsay Studio 2 on Keele’s campus

We are always looking for new members and welcome string players of approximately grade 6 standard and above. We hold very informal auditions for all new members during Freshers’ Week and are particularly keen to hear from French Horn and Trombone players!
