Key Research Interests: Socio-political theories employed in accounting – stakeholder, political economy and legitimacy theories.
My research interests are in the socio-political theories employed in accounting – stakeholder, political economy and legitimacy theories. In particular, research that advances organisational legitimacy theory in social and environmental accounting. How social and environmental disclosure affects peoples’ judgements of a company and their support of it. The effect of information that is disclosed in media outside of annual or corporate reports, such as information in the news media or corporate advertisements. Peoples’ perceptions of credible environmental information disclosed by companies. How references to GRI Guidelines, sustainability and environmental auditing frameworks, NGO alliances, and other external endorsements affects perceptions of credibility.
