Journals: Print Journals

Key Education Journal Publishers

The IOE holds a range of education journals from a range of publishers. Some key education publishers are included below.

Print Journals at UCL IOE

The library has an extensive collection of journals on education and related subjects from all over the world. Some are available in print format, others electronically; many appear in both formats.

The main print collection, including the latest issues received, is on open access and shelved alphabetically by title.  These journals can be found on Level 3 in the Library, and titles are shelved on both fixed shelves and in rolling stacks.

Less-used journals are kept in the UCL store, and can be fetched when needed. Requests should be made at the Library Help Point.

Curriculum Resources journals, selected for their usefulness in preparing classroom materials, are located on Level 4 adjacent to the Curriculum Resources collection.

All journals are for reference use only, but can be photocopied in the Library (usual copyright restrictions apply).

Journals: Electronic Journals

Ejournal Packages

UCL IOE Library subscribes to around 4,000 electronic journal titles in education and related social sciences.  Some publishers offer packages of all their ejournal titles or packages of humanities and social science titles.  These are cost effective ways for UCL IOE Library to provide access to a wide range of ejournal titles.

As part of UCL, IOE students have access to thousands more ejournals that can be found on UCL Explore.

Find Ejournals

To search for electronic journals by journal title use UCL’s Find e-Journal service.  You will be able to link through to full text online electronic journals if the IOE has access to them.

Journals from Senate House Library

All IOE staff and students are entitled to join Senate House Library.  Membership provides you with access to the printed and electronic journal collections at Senate House.  You can also access Senate House Library electronic journals remotely once you have registered.
