BA (Hons) Illustration University Level / Full Time

Illustration is about solving visual problems through the use of creative drawing and thinking. Whether drawing on paper, painting or developing your digital skills, Hull School of Art and Design’s BA (Hons) Illustration offers you an engaging experience where you will be encouraged to explore and develop your own unique visual language.

While drawing practice is fundamental to the illustration course, you’ll also have opportunities to work with print, digital, collage, model making and moving image, focusing on developing your professional skills and confidence. Students have the opportunity to enter national competitions and work on a variety of external projects and live briefs in order to prepare graduates for entering into industry.

Previous graduates from our BA (Hons) Illustration course have gone on to work for design studios, within advertising, publishing or as freelance Illustrators. Some have continued to subject related post graduate study. You could potentially work in any field of illustration or even as part of a collective – take the first step towards your future today.

Entry Requirements

96 UCAS points

Although we use UCAS points as a guide for students coming straight from school or college, entry to all our programmes is by interview (and portfolio/audition for programmes in the Faculty of Arts), together with evidence of academic achievement and/or relevant professional attainment. So please contact us to discuss your individual situation as we actively welcome students from a wide range of educational backgrounds. For us, what you’ve achieved in the past isn’t nearly as important as what we believe you can achieve in the future and we excel at providing the support that helps students succeed, regardless of their previous academic background.
