BA (Hons) Graphic DesignUniversity Level / Full Time

Graphic Design is a highly creative subject and it is about far more than just visual style. It is about problem solving and communication. At Hull School of Art and Design there are many creative opportunities for visual experimentation and students are encouraged to develop their own interests and strengths.

Typography, photography, printmaking and industry relevant software skills are core subjects taught by experienced staff who are all professional designers. The quality of work produced on the programme has achieved national recognition through competition success including the Design & Art Direction (D&AD) Student Awards, Royal Society of Arts (RSA) Student Awards, Starpack Packaging Student Awards and Young Creative Network (YCN).

Contacts with industry are strong and work experience encouraged. With continuing demand for Hull students both locally and nationally our BA (Hons) Graphic Design can lead to a variety of roles within the creative industries and some graduates use their degree to enter teaching or for further study. All applicants are invited for interview to talk through their portfolio, tour the building and meet staff and students.

Entry Requirements

96 UCAS points

Although we use UCAS points as a guide for students coming straight from school or college, entry to all our programmes is by interview (and portfolio/audition for programmes in the Faculty of Arts), together with evidence of academic achievement and/or relevant professional attainment. So please contact us to discuss your individual situation as we actively welcome students from a wide range of educational backgrounds. For us, what you’ve achieved in the past isn’t nearly as important as what we believe you can achieve in the future and we excel at providing the support that helps students succeed, regardless of their previous academic background.
