Working with children in a number of settings, from nurseries through to home-based childcare, is a sector always in need of hardworking, reliable and qualified staff. The Level 3 Childcare and Education Study Programme teaches you to work with children unsupervised, developing activities and carrying out observation while developing excellent communication skills to help the children in your care to reach their full potential. You’ll also carry out work experience in a range of childcare settings, putting your knowledge to practical as well as developing additional employability skills for you. This course gives you UCAS point for progression to higher education in Young Children’s Learning and Development. You can also work as a professional early years educator at level 3 once you’ve finished this Study Programme.
Students will require a GSCE at C or above in both English or Maths, and a range of other GCSE in academic subjects grade C – E. Clear Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) will also be required.
Please note that from June 2017, English and maths GCSEs will no longer be graded in the familiar A*-G format, but a new 9-1 grading system, with 9 being the highest grade. Under this new system the grade 4 will be equivalent to a grade C. Please contact us for more details.
