Heriot-Watt University Graduation 2017

Please use the checklist below:

  • Please ensure that you are eligible to graduate by checking your results online. If you do not receive an award decision permitting you to graduate you will not be able to graduate in June 2017 even if you have applied to do so.
  • Check the date and time of your graduation ceremony and ensure that you arrive at least 1.5 hours before the ceremony is due to start.
  • Apply to graduate.  Applications are now open.
  • Clear any outstanding debt with the University by 19 May 2017.
  • Please contact the hire company to order your gown and hood well in advance of the ceremony. The company only bring a limited number of extra gowns and hoods to each ceremony and you will not be permitted to graduate in person or be presented to the Chancellor without one.
  • Success Photography will be available with a number of photographic studios to take professional individual of family photographs.  We suggest you come along for your photos before your ceremony if possible, or after the reception.
  • Carefully read the Graduation day: step by step guide
  • Find out what Alumni can offer you after graduation.
  • Find out what Careers can offer you after graduation.  We will be sending you a questionnaire in November to enable us to find out what you are doing work and study-wise. It is extremely important that you complete and return the questionnaire as it lets the University knows how its graduates are faring and is also contributes to national survey results. If we do not receive the form we will then give you a call. Please let Careers know if you change your address or telephone number.
  • Return all library books prior to the ceremony.
