Junior Guildhall is the specialist pre-conservatoire department of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with over 450 students aged between 4 and 18 enrolled on the Music Course, Drama Course and String Training Programme on Saturdays.
We seek to appoint an outstanding musician and administrator with extensive experience in the education sector to assist the Head of Junior Guildhall and Safeguarding Lead and ensure that Junior Guildhall continues to provide specialist education at the highest level.
The successful candidate will be dynamic and committed to developing talented young students to reach their full potential. They will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, the ability to build positive relationships with parents, staff and students and to create a culture which fosters collaboration, innovation, personal motivation and a lateral approach to problem solving.
He/She will manage a varied portfolio of tasks, including Safeguarding and management responsibilities. He/She has a proven track record as a musician and educator, a sound artistic judgement and a passion for encouraging artistic excellence in a creative work environment.

Widening Participation Officer (Student Recruitment)

Salary Range: £32,760 – £37,110 (including London Weighting) per annum depending on experience/performance
We are looking for someone with a passion for education, a commitment to encouraging diversity, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. The role holder will need experience of school liaison promoting educational opportunities in higher education institutions and knowledge of widening participation and cultural diversity issues relating to the higher education sector in general and arts education in particular.
The Widening Participation Officer will initiate and support efforts across the School to increase participation in the School’s higher education programmes from students from under-represented groups within the UK. The role holder will be based within the Registry and will work closely with academic departments and the School’s Guildhall Young Artist Division. Some flexibility in working hours will be essential to meet stakeholders and organise and attend events.
