Goldsmiths University of London Journalism
Goldsmiths University of London Journalism, all our programmes have a common purpose: to put you on track for a dynamic career in journalism and the wider media.
We teach the key multimedia journalism skills to equip you for success at the highest levels across all types of platforms.
Our alumni have gone onto work at major broadcasters such as the BBC and BloombergTV, on publications like the Guardian and Elle magazine and at the cutting edge of digital content at Twitter and Vice. Many also work in related fields such as public relations and communications. Media organisations know and trust the Goldsmiths Journalism brand.
Each programme is an intensive blend of workshop-based training in key practical skills such as news and feature writing, data and video reporting and lectures in subjects like media law and research techniques. And with our strong tradition of the study of the media itself, we aim to create critically aware, thinking, confident journalists, who understand the wider context of their work. Our journalism teaching staff have worked at the highest levels of the industry: their skills and knowledge are fundamental to enable students to launch their own careers.
All undergraduate and postgraduate students hone their skills working as journalists in a professional newsroom environment on the local news website we run, Eastlondonlines, which covers a diverse and exciting area of London.
The School and the Department of Media and Communications is a focus for debate and discussion about journalism and the wider media; we have many guest speakers and networking events throughout the year.
