Glasgow Caledonia University Vision Sciences

Vision Sciences is the only vision science teaching unit in Scotland. As such, we play a key role within the research and learning portfolio of the School of Health and Life Sciences.

We are unique in offering undergraduate degree programmes in BSc (Hons) Optometry, BSc Ophthalmic Dispensing and BSc (Hons) Orthoptics. All courses enable students to gain hands-on clinical experience in our Vision Centre. We have courses which have been accredited by the General Optical Council and the Health & Care Professions Council.

Students within Vision Sciences benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities of the GCU Vision Centre. The Vision Centre provides clinical training facilities for our students who work with patients under supervision of our experienced and qualified clinical staff.
