Falmouth University Young Writers

The Young Writers’ Prize at Falmouth University is a chance for you to have your work read by published writers.

  • Are you a budding young writer?
  • Do you have an idea for a story?
  • Do you want to meet some professional writers?

All the stories we receive will be read by a panel of judges from the School of Writing & Journalism, chaired by our external judge, literary agent Danielle Zigner.

The prize for first place is travel to London and lunch with a literary agent. Second prize is two tickets to the Young Adult Literature Convention 2017 (with vouchers to offset rail travel), and third prize is £50 in book tokens and vouchers.

The winning entries, as well as two runners up, will be published in a special edition of Falmouth University’s literary magazine, WiTH.

All participants will be invited to the Young Writers’ Prize Awards Day at Penryn Campus, including workshops with professional writers, author readings, lunch and informal time with judges and faculty.

To enter, simply download and read the competition rules below and submit your entry to: youngwritersprize@falmouth.ac.uk by 2 December 2016.
