Undergraduate Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for courses commencing in 2017

Tuition fees for the academic year 2017-18 for full-time UK/EU new and returning undergraduate students, for their studies from September 2017 onwards:

  • BA(Hons) courses: £9,250

Paying with a Tuition Fee Loan from Student Finance England

If you have applied for a Tuition Fee Loan from Student Finance England, please check your payment schedule from the Student Loan Company to confirm that you have been awarded the correct amount. The Student Loan Company will automatically pay the Tuition Fees on your behalf directly to Falmouth University, on the dates specified on the payment schedule.

Paying tuition fees without the Tuition Fee Loan

Students who are not applying for a Tuition Fee Loan and are intending to make the fees payment directly themselves, can either pay the full tuition fees of £9,250 by 18 September 2017 (1st years) or 25 September 2017 (2nd & 3rd years), alternatively the payment can be made by two instalments of £4,625 by 18 September 2017 (1st years) or 25 September 2017 (2nd & 3rd years) and £4,625 by the 8 January 2018 (all years).

Postgraduate Tuition Fees

Full-time postgraduate courses

Tuition fees for the academic year 2017-18 for full-time UK/EU postgraduate students:

  • MA courses: £8,000 annual fee

Part-time postgraduate courses

Tuition fees for the academic year 2017-18 for part-time UK/EU postgraduate students:

  • MA courses: £4,000 annual fee
  • PGCHE: £2,000 annual fee

Payment schedule

For students who are not in receipt of a postgraduate loan, the tuition fees for the forthcoming Academic Year 2017/18 can either be paid in full at the start of the course in September, or by two equal instalments due on the dates shown below. Students who are in receipt of a Postgraduate loan from Student Finance England can pay their tuition fees over 3 instalments in accordance with the payment dates on their loan schedule, providing they forward a copy of the payment schedule to student.fees@falmouth.ac.uk

Please note if this is your first year of study, please deduct your acceptance fee from your first payment.

UK/EU students will be required to pay a £250 acceptance fee, when they formally accept a place on the course. The acceptance fee payment of £250 will be allocated to a student’s tuition fee charges, once they have commenced their studies. The acceptance fee is non refundable, with the exception of cancellations of study places within 14 days of receipt of the acceptance fee payment, in these cases a full refund will be issued.

Postgraduate/MA courses:

  • 1st instalment due: 25 September 2017
  • 2nd instalment due: 8 January 2018

MPhil/PhD Tuition Fees

Full-time MPhil/PhD (UK/EU students)

  • MPhil/PhD: £4,400 annual fee
  • Writing up fee: £250

Part-time MPhil/PhD (UK/EU students)

  • MPhil/PhD: £2,200 annual fee
  • Writing up fee: £250

Acceptance fee

PhD students who are self-paying will be required to pay an acceptance fee of £250 when they accept an offer of a study place. Please note, the acceptance fee will be offset against tuition fees when a student begins their studies. The acceptance fee is non refundable, with the exception of cancellations of study places within 14 days of receipt of the payment. In these cases a full refund will be issued.

International Tuition Fees

Annual inclusive tuition fees

This schedule of tuition fees applies to students commencing their studies as a new student in the academic year 2017/18. The annual inclusive fee covers the annual tuition fees. It does not include accommodation charges.

Visiting students will be charged the above fees on a pro-rata basis relating to their period of study and will receive a £500 pro-rata discount reflecting their exemption from assessments.

Channel Islands and Isle of Man

Students that are residents on the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man will be allocated Island status and will be charged annual Tuition Fees of £9250 for full-time Undergraduate courses. They should contact their local Education Office about applying for funding.

Acceptance fee

An acceptance fee of £250 for EEA nationals (except  Norway), £500 for non-visa nationals and £1000 for visa nationals should be submitted with the acceptance of an offer of a place at the University. The acceptance fee will only be refunded if the acceptance of a study place is canceled within 14 days of receipt of payment or if Visa nationals fail to secure a visa; we will require notification from the appropriate High Commission.

Payment schedule

The annual inclusive fee can either be paid in full at the start of the course or in two equal installments: the first installment on enrolment in September, and the second installment is due at the beginning of the second study block in January.

Please deduct your acceptance fee and if applicable Falmouth University tuition fee scholarship award from your first payment.

  • In person at the Finance Office between 9.00am and 2.00pm (3.00pm Wednesdays) Monday to Friday
