The cost of studying at Edinburgh Napier and the funding available to you will depend on your nationality, where you currently live, your personal circumstances and the type of course you’re studying.

Find out what options are available to help you pay for tuition and living expenses and how we can support you with funding, bursaries and advice.

Your fee status

Your fee status will classify you as either a Scottish student, a student from Northern Ireland, Wales, England and Channel Islands or a student from elsewhere in the European Union or an international student.

In most cases we base this you on the information contained on your UCAS application.

If you’re unsure about your fee status, contact our admissions team on ugadmissions@napier.ac.uk or call 0333 900 6040.

Students from Scotland

If you live in Scotland and meet the eligibility requirements to be considered ‘Scottish-domiciled’, your fees will normally be paid for by the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS).

Paying your fees

Students who are paying their own fees will pay directly to Edinburgh Napier University. Payment, or a payment plan, must be completed before starting your studies.

If you are taking 60 credits or more over an academic year, you can set up a payment plan to pay your fees over a period of time. If you study less than 60 credits you must pay in full.

Tuition fees are subject to change and there may be an annual increase in the cost of tuition fees while you’re studying at Edinburgh Napier.

Living costs

If you’re living away from home for the first time, you may be wondering how you’ll pay for your studies and general living costs.

Living costs will vary depending on individual budgets and lifestyles. We recommend you try and create a monthly budget to work out how much money you’ll need, particularly taking into consideration student loans.
