The Venue@DMU is De Montfort University’s (DMU’s) Events and Conference Centre which offers a large flexible hall space and two conference rooms. The centre hosts a number of University events such as our Graduation and Matriculation ceremonies, Student Welcome Events and much more. It is also available to hire externally at selected times throughout the year and is an ideal space for a variety of functions such as meetings, exhibitions, award ceremonies, presentations and theatrical shows.

Based in the heart of Leicester, the centre has accessible links from two major motorways; bus stations and train stations.

The experienced and knowledgeable DMU Conferences Team can offer bespoke packages to suit all needs. Their personalised service will ensure any event runs smoothly, allowing delegates to concentrate on getting down to business.

The Venue@DMU is purpose-built to hold spectacular ceremonies, performances and celebrations. Since it opened in 2015, we have held all our graduation ceremonies here and the results have been outstanding, giving students the kind of send-off their efforts deserve, using full, professional lighting, powerful sound and creative staging to give each graduate their moment in the spotlight in front of friends and family.

Formerly a sports hall, DMU invested £5million into transforming the building, right next to the Queen Elizabeth II Leisure Centre into a huge entertaining space. Its polished wooden floors, retractable bleacher-style seating and full lighting and sound rigs make it adaptable to any kind of celebration, from business away days to weddings.

The university uses it for, among other things, graduations, matriculations and welcome events for new students and award ceremonies. Upstairs there is a series of smart modern meeting rooms and a kitchen to prepare refreshments. As part of DMU’s commitment to operating for the public good, the Venue@DMU can be hired for private bookings, too.
