Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all online transactions made with The City University (known as City, University of London). When purchasing goods and services online from the University, please see Section II below.

In these terms and conditions, “you” means a student of the University, a staff member or a third-party buyer. “Your” is to be construed accordingly.

Please note that if you change your mind you have the right to cancel the online transaction within a specified time limit:

  • for services: seven (7) working days from the day of agreement to proceed with the transaction, or receipt of written confirmation, whichever is the later; and
  • for goods: seven (7) working days from the day after receipt of the goods.
  • for short courses: Refunds will be given, minus a £25.00 administration charge, if written notification is received at least 14 days before the start of term. No refunds will be given with less than 14 days written notice. Please refer to Section IV below for the additional terms and conditions for short courses.

If you do wish to cancel you must inform the University in writing (by letter, fax or email). If you are cancelling goods, then these must be returned immediately to the University. Refunds will be made as soon as possible following cancellation, or within thirty (30) days at the latest.

If the goods are faulty we will, upon notification, arrange for the goods to be returned at our expense. If the goods are not faulty you will be responsible for any delivery charges.

Please note that individual goods and services may have additional terms and conditions and you should refer to the listing within the online store for these terms and conditions.

All prices are in GBP and where applicable subject to VAT.

The University may change these terms from time to time without notice. Changes will apply to any subsequent transactions with the University.

These terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and relevant legislation covering statutory consumer rights.
