Cardiff University Work Experience
Work Experience and Placements
Cardiff University Work Experience, We are committed to providing students with opportunities to gain work-related learning. This can be in the form of a short work experience insight, summer project or a full-year placement.
We are always looking to engage with employers who wish to recruit our students, and many return to recruit each year. We have a dedicated work experience team who organise both paid and unpaid work experience opportunities and internships. The team can provide support throughout this process, helping with everything from advertising to induction and monitoring of progress.
The team work with Santander to offer fully and partly funded work experience placements for SME’s wishing to take on a student or recent graduate for between four weeks and three months.
We also have a network of placement officers working within academic schools to support students who want to undertake a year in industry placement. We can put you in touch with the appropriate contact should this be an opportunity you would like to explore.

Students with a specific skillset
Each Academic School arranges its own placements. For example, the MBA and the MSc in Strategic Marketing courses team students with local and national businesses to create marketing and business plans.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a three-way partnership between an organisation, a graduate and Cardiff University. Part-funded by Government, the scheme provides access to academic skills and expertise to businesses who wish to innovate, expand or improve their performance.
