On Thursday 19 January, a student was found dead at St George’s Student Accommodation, Canterbury Christ Church University has confirmed.

Jeanette Earl, Media Relations Manager for CCCU, said:

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends, and we would like to remind all students and staff that help and advice is available through the university support services.

Out of respect for the family, we will not be giving any further details at this time.”

According to Kent Online, the 20-year-old woman’s death “is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”

Police were called after a young woman was found dead in student digs.

Emergency crews rushed to the St George’s Centre in Canterbury following the death of the 20-year-old.

Canterbury Christ Church University, which owns the site, confirmed the woman was one of its students.

The death – reported last Thursday evening – is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
