Master’s in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) Implantology

Implant dentistry is one of the fastest growing areas of dentistry and patients’ expectations are high. As such, you need to know you are learning with the most advanced dentistry education providers. The General Dental Council (GDC) expects all dentists undertaking implant treatment to be able to demonstrate appropriate training.

The Master’s in Clinical Dentistry (Implantology) instils the essential skills needed for this specialist area equipping you with core knowledge and clinical expertise. On completion you will be able to competently and confidently deliver high-quality dental care.

As part of the course, you will be exposed to unique advanced training, benefiting from the experience of placing implants and performing advanced surgical procedures including bone augmentation and sinus elevation using cadaveric specimens.

Entry requirements

UK students

  • Undergraduate qualification in Dentistry and
  • Completion of at least one year in clinical practice and
  • Current GDC practising certificate

International (including EU) students

  • Undergraduate qualification in Dentistry and
  • Completion of at least one year in clinical practice and
  • Letter of good standing or equivalent from an appropriate regulatory dental body and
  • IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component)

Prior to commencing clinical placement

  • Current satisfactory immunisation status and
  • Current evidence of a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and
  • Current evidence of malpractice indemnity insurance

English language

IELTS 6.5 (6.0 in each component) – the international office can assess your certificates and advise whether or not you meet the entry requirements. You can also visit our website for a list of entry requirements from your particular country of origin.

Fees

£10,000 per annum part-time for 180 Master’s Level credits (part-time study)
£25,000 per annum for full-time 180 Master’s Level credits (full-time study with UK clinical placement)
£37,500 per annum for full-time 180 Master’s Level credits (full-time study with international clinical placements)

A deposit of £250 will need to be paid within 48 hours of accepting your offer, in order to secure your place.
