Bangor University continues to rise in University League Tables

Bangor University’s continued success is reflected in the latest University League tables to be published today (Monday 27 April) by The Complete University Guide 2016.

The Complete University Guide places Bangor University third in Wales and in the top 60 UK universities (58th), one of only two universities in Wales improving on last year’s position in the table. The University is also included in the top ten UK universities for four subject areas.

The University continues to rise both in the league tables and in popularity among its students; only last week, the University won a national Award for the University’s Clubs and Societies, based on positive responses from the University’s students.

The University currently leads the field in Wales and is placed 14th in the UK in a recent university experience survey (Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2015).

Other recent successes for Bangor University include being placed top in Wales and 7th in the UK in the UK Student Satisfaction Survey, based on student satisfaction with their university experience, being placed among the UK’s top 50 best Universities according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015, and ranked in the top 100 Universities for the University’s international outlook.

In other areas, the University also achieved excellent results in the independent Research Excellence Framework which recognised over three-quarters of Bangor’s research as being either world-leading or internationally excellent. The University is also among the top 10% of the world’s greenest Universities and has recently achieved the internationally recognised ISO14001 Environmental Standard.

Vice-Chancellor Professor John G. Hughes said: “I am once again very pleased with this performance which underlines the excellent quality of teaching and fantastic experience students have at Bangor University.

“I would like to thank our academics and support staff for all their efforts once again.”
