Sport Aston Swimming Pool Birmingham

Sport Aston’s pool is the oldest and one of the most popular in Birmingham. Pay as you go!

The swimming pool at The Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports Centre is unique and offers a beautiful place to swim in Birmingham for staff, students and the public.

The pool is always split into fast, medium and slow lanes. When you come for a swim you can choose your pace and swim as many lengths as you want.

Timetable Amendments

You can download a copy of the pool timetable here. Please note that on Friday 1st April there will be no ladies only sessions. This is due to a shortage of female lifeguards. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Children can swim between 14:00 – 17:00 Mon-Fri and any time on Saturdays and Sundays. Children aged between 11 – 16 can swim unaccompanied and children under the age of 11 must be accompanied in the water by an adult. One adult may accompany up to two children under the age of 11, children under 5 should  be accompanied on a 1:1 basis. Children under 16 cannot swim in the Ladies Only or Aqua Aerobics sessions.

Aston University Swimming and Water Polo Club

Swimming is very popular sport at Aston. The club is split into 3 groups; Swimming Team, Men’s Water Polo, and Women’s Water Polo. The majority of the training overlaps with most members participating in both disciplines.
