UK students are advised to show their UK medical card, which has their NHS number printed on it, to speed up the registration process with whichever doctor you choose to register with. You may find it helpful to know that as a UK student you have the option of remaining with your home GP even though you are studying in Birmingham. Click here for details. However if you suffer from a chronic health condition, having a Birmingham GP may be a better option.
