Student Jobs

Many students work part time to help fund their studies whilst at AUB.

If you are considering applying for a job you should remember that you will need to maintain a balance between work and study – the careers service can give you advice on this.

National minimum wage

The National Minimum Wage is the minimum pay per hour almost all workers are entitled to.

The National Living Wage is higher than the National Minimum Wage – workers get it if they’re over 25.

The current rates are as follows:

  • 25 and over – £7.20
  • 21 to 24 year olds – £6.95
  • 18 to 20 year olds – £5.55
  • 16 to 17 year olds – £4.00

This section contains links to a selection of selected vacancies, which usually stay online for four weeks. Please note that the AUB Careers Service Facebook page contains more part-time vacancies suitable for AUB Students.

Information for international students

International students who are looking for paid work in the UK will need to apply for a National Insurance number.

It is free to apply and applications should be made by phone to the National Insurance Number application line. Telephone: 0345 600 0643.

More information on working part-time can be found on the Part-time work and placements page in the International section.
