Helpful Hints & Tips:
- The e-mail address you provide on your application form will be used to send any correspondence to you until you have activated your Aberystwyth University e-mail account. Therefore please ensure that this is an active e-mail address and that you check it on a regular basis (we advise against using school/college e-mail addresses as these may become inactive after you have left). From July onwards and once your academic offer is unconditional details on how to activate your Aberystwyth University e-mail account will be sent to you by Information Services.
- We will allocate you a place in residences, taking into account your preferences and will try to offer you one of your higher preferences. However, because the residences vary in the number of students they accommodate and some are more popular than others, obtaining your higher preferences cannot be guaranteed. If there is not a vacancy in your first preference of residence, we will consider all your other choices in priority order until a vacancy can be located. Therefore please make sure you consider all your choices carefully – remember, we have accommodation options available both on and off campus with about 500 bedrooms in our Town and Seafront Residences (80% of which will be occupied by first year students).
- If you have a medical condition, sensory impairment or individual requirements as a result of a specific learning difficulty, please give details in the ‘Disability/Accessibility’ section on the accommodation application form. All information will be treated in confidence and will help in the allocation of the most appropriate accommodation for individual needs. We advise you contact an Accessibility Advisor at Student Support Services, in confidence, to discuss your requirements as medical evidence will be required in order to support your application.
