Funding your studies

Going to university is an investment in your future, so it’s important to plan ahead and be aware of the costs involved in advance. This information is provided as a brief introduction to what financial support is available. Further advice and guidance is available by contacting our Advisory Service.

The costs involved in attending university fall into two main areas – tuition fees and living costs.

Tuition fees and the types of financial support to help with living costs will vary depending on where you are from, whether you plan to study full or part time, and whether you are studying at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Tuition fees

All students studying at university are liable to pay tuition fees. The tuition fee you pay will depend on your fee status and the course you are studying. Generally, your fee status is the same as your current country of residence. However, not all cases are straightforward. We use the information you provide in your application to determine your fee status, and may ask you for additional information to ensure your fee status is correct.
